On May 20, 2020, a great event happened for Glazovsky Distillery! This year the factory celebrated its 120th anniversary!

The history of the factory is associated with the history of the distilling’s development in the Vyatka Governorate. Vyatka wine was sold “to local needs” in the following provinces: Perm and Kazan, rafted along the Kama and Volga to Nizhny Novgorod and Saratov, sent to Vologda and abroad.

In 1900, in Glazov, on the Cheptsa River bank, a kilometer from Freedom Square, on 13 Naberezhnaya Street, a distillery factory was built.

In 1901, the factory started producing wheat vodka. However, at the beginning of the Imperialist War, the production activities of many enterprises were discontinued. From 1915 to 1919, a military hospital was located in the factory building. In the 1920s, Glazovsky Orphanage occupied production facilities. In 1927, the factory was finally restored, and in 1928 began to produce grain wine and vodka again.

When the Great Patriotic War began, the factory was transferred to the Main Directorate of the Tobacco Industry of the USSR People’s Commissariat.

In 1950, tobacco production was halted. The main production consisted of distillery, treatment, washing, bottling and other workshops, as well as a boiler room and chemical laboratory.

By the early 1980s, the distillery was a developed industrial enterprise with full automation of production.

Since 1993, the director of the factory is Nikolai Borisovich Sorokin. The manager relied on the production of high-quality products in the original bottle.

At present, Glazovsky Distillery OJSC it’s:

• Products presented in all regions of Russia and abroad.

Every year, the enterprise seeks to conquer new markets and increase volumes of manufacture. So, in 2019, the factory reached a maximum sales figure of more than 1.9 million deciliters.
